“Our Lives Begin To End The Day We Become Silent About Things That Matter” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
To Have an African Continent Free From Poverty
Africa is indeed, for many reasons, a continent where endemic poverty is prevalent in very large scales. Majority of the African population lives below the poverty line. This state of affairs is caused by reasons that include but not limited to:
- Corrupt Governments
- Internal Conflict
- Illiteracy and Unemployment
- Poor recourse usage
- Environmental Degradation
- Population Growth
- Lack of Infrastructure
- Poor Government, World bank and IMF policies, among others.
Such are the factors that tie Africa to Poverty. CAP envisions an Africa free from Poverty, and aims tackling these factors with a view to changing the fortunes of the continent.
In the words attributed to Martin Luther King, Jr., ''Our Lives Begin To End The Day We Become Silent About Things That Matter''. We choose not to remain silent, Poverty is a scourge that MUST and CAN be eliminated. Remaining silent is NOT an option.
To Identify and Mitigate the Fundamental Causes of Poverty in Africa
At CAP we have set out to ambitiously and unreservedly tackle the causes of poverty in Afrika. We have launched a Campaign to fight poverty, a Campaign that shall aim to bring people together to create a oneness that shall take positive steps to mitigate the causes of Poverty.
In this mission we shall be working with individuals, organizations and Governments from all over the world, those that share our vision, to achieve our objectives. The smallest contribution from the smallest person will greatly enhance our cause.
Martin Luther King, Jr. again inspires us in appreciating that ''If I Cannot Do Great Things, I Can Do Small Things In a Great Way''. Therein lies the challenge for all of us.
